Please follow the process below to determine your eligibility and ensure all required documentation is completed prior to your enrolment application submission.
Step 1 - Age Eligibility
If your child is born between 1 July 2020 to 30 June 2021, you can now enrol. Click on the link below to see when your child is eligible to enrol.

Step 2 - In Catchment
Check to see if you live in the local catchment area.
Out of Catchment
If you reside outside of Southport State School's Catchment Area, please email the Principal with your request and reasons for an out of catchment enrolment.
Step 3 – Enrolments open from Term 2
Complete and submit an Enrolment Package. An enrolment package is also available from the school's administration office. We recommend this is done as soon as possible.

Please return your completed enrolment package via email to the Enrolment Officer. Alternatively, this can be printed and returned to the school's administration office.
Each submission will require the following documents:
- Enrolment Package with all sections completed and signed
The following documents will need to be sighted by the school before or during enrolment interview:
- an original birth certificate for your child (for sighting purposes only)
- two forms of proof of residential address (e.g., electricity, phone bill, rates notices, rental agreement or unconditional contract of sale)
- visa documentation and passports for parent and student (if required).
- any relevant medical or legal documents.
To prevent any delay to the application process, please ensure all appropriate forms are completed and original copies of support document are provided.

Welcome Aboard Discussions
Future students and their parents attend a Welcome Aboard discussion with a member of the Leadership Team. These begin Tuesday 9 September.

Prep Transition Days
This program provides enrolled Prep 2026 students to visit a Prep classroom to get a first hand experience of what 'Big School' is like. Parents will need to remain on site during this time and will engage in workshops as well as having an opportunity to ask staff questions.
These transition days are only for students and parents who have had a Welcome Aboard discussion.
