Southport State School P&C Association is run by volunteers. We fundraise for the school to improve facilities and resources through the organisation and running events that include discos, fun runs, stalls and family events. We also work closely with the school to help the Art Show, Multicultural Day and the end of year concert, Evening on the Lawn. We believe in community and regularly plan opportunities for our students and families to give back, through our clothes, food and book drives.

The P&C runs the three school businesses: OSHC, Snack Shack and Uniform Shop. All costs therefore can be kept low for our community, ensuring that any profits are put directly back into the school.

We have provided facilities such as air conditioning, playgrounds, library resources, upgrades to uniform shop, OSHC and the Snack Shack via fundraising, grants and profits from our businesses. An annual cash donation is made to the school to assist with improvement projects. Being part of the P&C means you get to have a say in how our funds are spent.

In addition to this, the P&C have several community-based groups. We run a free Playgroup in the OSHC building for children ages 0-5 every Tuesday 9.15-11.15 during term time. All welcome. No booking required.

In conjunction with the Multicultural Families Organisation, we hold an English Language group every Wednesday from 9:30 – 11:30 in the P&C room. This is a free group with weekly activities for our English as a second language parents and family members to converse and gain confidence in English. To join, please enquire at the school office.

Our meetings are held in the P&C room (enter via Uniform Shop) on the 3^rd Tuesday of the month. Any suggestions for fundraising, volunteering or improvements are welcome in general business at the end of the meeting. All welcome, free childcare is provided for the duration of the meeting by our OSHC staff (dependant on availability). Please email secretary@pcsouthportss.school prior to the meeting to book in.

Volunteers to help in the Snack Shack, library or community garden are always welcome. Join us, make some new friends, have fun and have a positive impact on your child's school community.
